Thanksgiving is a time for reflection, gratitude and family. A day when we collectively unite as a nation to remember our blessings and cherish those whom we love.
GLG has much to be thankful for. We are thankful for our families, who are supportive and understanding while tolerating the long hours we put in. We are thankful to truly love what we do – work that matters and makes a difference. We are thankful for our clients, who place their trust in us and give us the honor of defending them. And, we are thankful for our staff members, who play a large role in our success by being the fuel that keeps us running.
We asked our staff members what they are thankful for this year; here’s what some of them said:
Brian Johnson – Attorney
“As we celebrate Thanksgiving this year, I have so much to be thankful for. I’m thankful for my amazing wife, Bethany, and our baby on the way. I’m thankful for our combined family, who have provided us with incredible opportunities to succeed. I’m thankful for my friends – for their unconditional support, steadfast loyalty, and uplifting humor. And I’m thankful for my “work family,” who show uncompromising integrity, trust, and support. Each of them has earned my deepest, most heartfelt thanks.”
Vonnie Michau – Legal Assistant
“I am thankful for the people in my life who encourage and support me. Most of all, my mother. She has always stood behind me, given me great advice, provided me with a beautiful home and is always there for me, no matter what. She taught me to take pride in everything I do and to never sell myself short.”
Holly Galinskie – Attorney
“When asked what I am thankful for, I immediately thought of my family and friends, good health, living in the Sunshine State in the good old USA, my job and a graceful God. However, since this relates more specifically to my work, I have to say I am thankful to be working in an environment where each individual attorney is valued and strong emphasis is placed on training and professional growth. I also appreciate that my firm maintains a comfortable work and home life balance, while still achieving the highest quality work. Additionally, I appreciate working for a firm that is highly respected in the legal community, and even more so in the insurance defense field, due in large part to the direction of its founder, Frank Goldstein. Furthermore, I am extremely lucky to have the co-workers I do – people who are kind and smile, all while working together to accomplish the day’s tasks. Lastly, I am very grateful to work every day with a highly intelligent woman, Deborah Braile, who is an effective leader and wonderful mentor.”
Maria Parisi – Jr. Assistant
“I am thankful for…health, family, friends, job, freedom, laughter, a home, and those who made a positive impact in my life.”
Kelsey Cross – Attorney
“It may sound cliché, but I am thankful for my family. Without their constant support and encouragement, I would not be where I am today. I thank my lucky stars every day of the year, not just during Thanksgiving, that I have them in my life to pick me up when I am down and push me higher when I am up. My family has earned all my accomplishments just as much as I have; and for that, I could not be more grateful.”
Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at GLG!
